swimming-pool in brescia
Brescia, Italy

competition: 2005
project design: luca gazzaniga architetti

Located on a site where the hills around Brescia come into contact with the city, this project aims to articulate these characteristics through a fundamental gesture in which the “internal” functions are gathered into a single large volume that is raised above ground. This enables two things, one to create public and garden space below, connected to urban circulation routes and the other to give the internal spaces a stronger relationship with the landscape. The building is on a number of storeys and planned in such a way as to provide functional separation that not only divides activities but also offers a large number of views.
